Summer Hinton: has been teaching dancers of all ages in Prescott since 1994. Summer’s name is synonymous with high-quality dance classes and entertaining performances. With her contagious enthusiasm and love of dance, Miss Summer encourages and excites her students, young or old. Miss Summer's competition dances have always received very high scores including Platinums, "Judges' Favorite Awards", Top Score Awards, and Top Choreographer Awards. Miss Summer's competitive Star Company Performance groups offer dancers a chance to compete at the state and national level. However, each student, whether they come once a week for fun and exercise or are the serious everyday dancer, receives Miss Summer’s undivided attention. Involved in many of Prescott’s charities, Miss Summer believes in “giving back to the community” by years of offering her talent and time in many shows and performances. Also deeply involved in Prescott’s Unified School District, Summer has volunteered countless hours of her teaching and choreographic talents to all the schools in PUSD. A professional dancer since three weeks after she graduated from Scottsdale High School, Miss Summer was immediately hired by the Sahara Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. For the next ten years, Summer danced on TV, in Las Vegas and Reno Nevada. Summer also was able to dance in three USO tours from Korea to Japan, entertaining thousands of troops.
Russ Hausske: met Miss Summer when she invited him to teach a West Coast Swing workshop in Prescott (he is a four time national West Coast Swing Champion in three different divisions). Russ choreographs and teaches several “partner dancing” styles including Latin, Night-Club, 2-Step & Country. A West Coast Swing specialist, Russ has been taught by several World West Coast Swing Champions such as Benji Schwimmer (2006 Fox Network’s “So You Think You Can Dance” TV reality series Champion) his sister Lacey (Dancing with the Stars) and many others. Through these Champions and others, Russ’ teaching philosophy is basics, basics, basics. A recent honor came coaching a young couple from Summer's Dance Works, they won 4th place at the US Open Swing Dance Championships in the Young American Division of WCS. In addition, Russ helped them win three (3) additional first place trophies at other Swing Championships. The last competition Russ participated in was in the Master’s Division of the US Open Swing Dance Championships where he and his partner placed 6th in a very competitive field of other dancers.
Nicole Romine: is a ballet mistress. She was classically trained in the Joffery and Walnut Hill School in New York. Her dancing careers began when she was awarded the role of Carlotta Grisi in the Pas De Quarte at the Stuttgart Opera House in Germany and in Balanchines' Tarantella. Working and performing with many different companies Miss Nicole has toured the world. Here in America, she danced at the Paramount studios as a Solid Gold dancer and was the lead female dancer for the last season of the original "FAME" television series at MGM Studios. Besides being a dancer she also has a career as a director/ choreographer for television, film and the stage. She has won numerous international awards and was nominated for an Emmy for a PBS special that she choreographed. Miss Nicole has had a wonderful career working with other great performed such as Madona, Dick Van Dyke, Frank Sinatra, Patricia McBride and Helgi Tomsson. Summer's DanceWorks is delighted and honored to have Miss Nicole teach and train the highest level of ballet for all ages and also continue her expertise in Pointe classes!
Dusty Savage: has been dancing for 13 years and teaching for 6 years. She is trained in multiple areas of dance, from hip hop and ballet to contemporary. Her passion for dance was shown when she was on a competitive dance team, traveling to Las Vegas several times for National Championship Competitions. She is pleased to pass down her love of dance to everyone she teaches.
Ali Baker: has been dancing since she was 4 years old, both in the studio and on stage in several musical theater productions. She has been teaching multiple styles of dance since 2013. She holds two dance degrees (Fine Arts Dance and Dance Technology) from Scottsdale Community College(SCC) where she specialized in Jazz Dance. During her time there she had the privilege of being in SCC’s “Moving Company” for two semesters and the “Scottsdale Arizona Jazz Ensemble” for five. She is so excited to be apart of Summer’s Danceworks to be able to share her love of dance with her students of all ages.
Jamie Hershman: has been dancing for 13 years and teaching for 4 years. She has danced in pre-professional ballet company and was even invited by the San Diego Ballet to be a part of their company. Her love of dance has helped her continue to improver herself. She loves working with her students helping them improve herself. She loves working with her students helping them improve themselves, expanding their dancing experiences and their love for dance.
Michele Roche: is Summer's DanceWorks office manager extraordinaire who keeps things running smoothly. A natural athlete in softball and volleyball, Michele was talked into taking a dance class over 15 years ago by Miss Summer and was soon performing and competing full time with the ladies Jazz and Tap groups.
