Miss Summer's Bio

Summer Hinton (Owner – Master Instructor)
Summer Hinton (Owner - Master Instructor)Miss Summer, as her students call her, has been teaching dancers of all ages in Prescott since 1994.  Summer’s name is synonymous with high-quality dance classes and entertaining performances. With her contagious enthusiasm and love of dance, Miss Summer encourages and excites her students, young or old. Each student, whether they come once a week for fun and exercise or are the serious everyday dancer, receives Miss Summer’s undivided attention.

Involved in many of Prescott’s charities, Miss Summer believes in “giving back to the community” by years of offering her talent and time in many shows and performances. Also deeply involved in Prescott’s Unified School District, Summer has volunteered countless hours of her teaching and choreographic talents to all the schools in PUSD.

A professional dancer since three weeks after she graduated from Scottsdale High School, Miss Summer was immediately hired by the Sahara casino in Las Vegas. For the next ten years, Summer danced on TV, in Las Vegas and Reno Nevada. Summer also was privileged to be able to dance in three years USO tours from Korea to Japan. Entertaining thousands of troops, Miss Summer made the lives of the brave men and women who served our Country that much better.

Miss Summer invites one and all to visit Summer’s DanceWorks. It’s easy…all you have to do is…

Russ Hausske (Master Instructor)

Russ Hausske (Master Instructor)Russ Hausske, a four time national West Coast Swing Champion (in three different divisions), met Summer Hinton when he came to Prescott to teach a dance workshop. They have been together ever since; as partners in dance and partners in life. Russ also choreographs and teaches several other “partner dancing” styles including Salsa, Night-Club 2-step and Country. A West Coast Swing specialist, Russ has been taught by several World and National West Coast Swing Champions such as Benji Schwimmer (who, in 2006…won Fox Networks “So You Think You Can Dance” TV reality series)…his partner and cousin Heidi Groskreutz (who finished in the top four of the Fox TV series) Kyle Redd and Sara Van Drake (three time US Open Swing Dance Classic Division Champions ) Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollman (four time US Open Swing Dance Classic Division Champions) and many others. Through these Champions and others, Russ’ teaching philosophy is basics, basics, basics…his latest triumph came through coaching Chase Thomas and Anika Larson for the Young American Division of WCS. In their two competitions so far, they have won 3 first place trophies! Whether you want to be a competitive partner dancer or you just want to go to go to the local clubs, Russ’ talent and patient teaching style offers you at least…a fun time.
